Male Netball

Many words come to mind about this event, but the most prominent would have to be class.

The Selwyn v Knox Male netball game might not be worth points for the prestigious Cameron Shield, however that does not affect the mindset of the boys involved. Twelve boys chosen by a very intense and rigorous selection process took to the court. The stands were flooded with maroon and gold, with wolf whistles from every girl.
The Knoxies showed up in their traditional sunglasses and Hawaiian shirts. The game was on.

The ball flew from end to end, using all sorts of unorthodox techniques. Although slightly intoxicated Knox put up a good fight. With an incredibly high scoring game, Selwyn managed to take the lead and win with a final score of 10 points to 6.

Ben Guest, one of the three coaches for the event had this to say, “She was a good game, our boys played well. The quality of netball was mostly high, and the banter on the court was fitting for the situation”.
All around a great result for Selwyn, and a nail biting warm up preceding the Women’s Netball.
